I arrived at 06.15hrs to be greeted by the chorus of Jackdaws and Rooks arising from their overnight roost in the wood. Wirrals answer to Batman & Robin or should it be Compo & Clegg?? Steve and Kenny arrived not long after.
First round produced a Magpie and the second a Jay, Kenny too scared to ring either bird, prefering to ring the more gentle Long Tailed Tits.
Overhead flew a lone Whooper Swan heading East and Redwings were moving around the reserve all morning.
Ringing totals
MAGPIE -1
JAY -1
LONG TAILED TIT -2 (2)
COAL TIT -(1)
GREAT TIT -2 (1)
LESSER REDPOLL -3
TOTAL = 9 (4)
