Saturday was a bright but cold day with the first arrivals of the Spring being several Pochard and Little Grebes trilling from both East and West pools.
With Dave working the feeding station I put a net up in the wet area around the north east corner of the west pool hoping for some Redpoll...no luck but I did catch the first new Willow Tit for 2009.
Sightings included female Peregrine eating prey, 2 male Yellowhammer including a bird singing, 6 Siskin, 2 pair of Buzzard displaying, Water Rail, 2 Snipe, 40 Fieldfare, Skylark and 2 Meadow Pipit. Also of note was a sighting of a Weasel around the gorse.
