Monday 12th January 2009 - a bit of warmth and the birds start to sing..

After listening to Song Thrush through most of the Christmas period it was the turn of Blackbird and Starling in the garden today. With temperature of 12degC today I was not surprised, Woodpiegons were busy chasing each other singing too.
News from the Eyes came from Dave Riley who had another quiet Saturday with 12 birds caught all retraps, some over flying Pink Feet and a Chiffchaff were worth noting though.
Also news reached Eyes Ringer that Mr Bumble has ringed his 50th species - a BHGull at Rhos on Sea...well done Ron, thats rather a lot of beer you owe to your ringing peers...can't wait for the bbq's to start again...
AEH.
