2008 got off to a good start with Lesser Spotted Woodpecker caught at the feeding station.A trip to Sharm El Sheik in March enabled good shots of Alba wagtails on the hotel lawns and a large passage of Chiffchaffs that week also.
May brought the usual variety of warblers to Woolston including this pair of Lesser Whitethroats caught in the Elder ride near to were they had set up territory.
2008 will also be remembered for the good numbers of Kingfisher caught - 14 in total, all juvenile birds.
The annual trip to Nan Ron in Scotland in July produced good numbers of Storm Petrels as usual and will also be remembered by some members for the otter which was seen on several occasions.
