Saturday 15th November 2008 - Treecreeper and Thrushes..

This morning the majority of birds were around the West feeding station, the windfall apples now starting to attract Thrushes as intended.
Surprise bird of the morning was a Treecreeper (pictured, no2 pic by Ron Brumby) a new bird for Malcolm (him being 'senior trainee').
Weather was a bit mixed and proved too damp for the delicate trainee's Ron B & John Crowther, who retreated to No3 Bed - bless!
Lesser Redpoll (pictured) are still about in good numbers and a single bird was caught in the Birch ride.
Other sightings of note were 3 Water Rail, 3000+ Woodpigeons; 20 Redwing and 50 Fieldfare. A Lesser Spotted Woodpecker was calling near the West pool also.

My ringing totals were -
Song Thrush -1
Blackbird - 1
Greenfinch - 12
Lesser Redpoll -1
Treecreeper -1
Blue Tit - 1
Wren - 1
Total = 18 new.
