Friday 7th November 2008 - Autumn leaves are falling..into the nets!

As usual for this time of year leaves were filling the nets as quick as you could empty them.

Sightings for the day included a Sparrowhawk chasing the roosting flock of 100 Starlings; 2 Chiffchaff; 6 Mistle Thrush; 20 Siskin; 20 Redpoll; 100 Redwing; 60 Fieldfare; 7 Snipe and around 20 Goldcrest.

Ringing this afternoon produced a typical Scandanavian 'Stockamsel' Blackbird showing the charactaristic black bill and pale edging to the breast feathers (pictured) and a couple of Redpoll.
