Friday 21st November 2008 - Garden delights as the cold wind pushes through..

My new RSPB multi feeder station arrived today and was soon bringing in the local birds from the wood bordering the garden. Coal Tits numbered 3 at any one time and up to 5 Great Tits. The 'bushy tailed tree rat' just sat below looking quite baffled, maybe it does not like chilli powder as recommended to deter the grey vermin. See -http://www.rspb.org.uk/news/details.asp?id=tcm:9-202877
A recently fledged Woodpiegon was clambering around, an adult bird still singing intermittently and Blackbirds numbered 12.
Redwings have tailed off - there were up to 25 at the beginning of the week. House Sparrows could be heard but not seen - see also - http://www.green.tv/rspb_sparrow1
Great news also for the UK's farmland birds see - http://www.rspb.org.uk/news/details.asp?id=tcm:9-203744
The photos were taking through the conservatory window - looks like I will have to get out and wash them!
Woolston tomorrow...
